The Kaiser Foundation directs its resources to support projects that:

  1. Focus on prevention or reduction of harm associated with substance use
  2. Seek to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of innovative strategies that would encourage other organizations and governments to support similar models
  3. Increase visibility of effective community health approaches and strengthen support for public health leadership in addressing substance use problems
  4. Have adaptability to other environments
  5. Operate primarily in the province of British Columbia. However, the Foundation may consider exceptional projects in other parts of Canada

Grants awarded by the Kaiser Foundation will be for amounts from $1,000 to $8,000. The Foundation may consider larger amounts, up to $25,000, for promising programs of particular interest to the Foundation. The Foundation looks favourably on applications that demonstrate the project has other sources of funding.
