VISION:
Connecting communities, governments, the private sector, and research centres of excellence in a unified effort to make a difference

Founded 25 years ago, the Kaiser Foundation is a national organization designed to promote the understanding and importance of dealing with issues related to mental health and addictions as health issues.

The Foundation is the sponsor of the Kaiser Foundation’s National Awards for Excellence Program in mental health and addictions initiatives. This program recognizes the excellent work being done by the thousands of Canadian organizations, communities and individuals who are engaged in the fields of mental health and addictions.

The Kaiser Foundation was one of the first organizations in Canada to bring a national perspective to this dialogue by addressing addiction and mental health as public health issues.

This commitment to recognizing outstanding achievements in these areas is advanced by the support of the Foundation’s National Partners, Directors and Advisory Board. The Kaiser Foundation’s engagement with corporate, government, labour and community sectors furthers this vital cooperation in improving health outcomes.

The prominence of the National Advisory Board members, Directors and National Partners shows that national leadership is recognizing the importance of dealing openly with mental health and addictions as health issues, not moral ones.
